Busy April So Far

Well we had a wonderful Easter. Mason to tons of gifts from his grandparents and us. He is a very spoiled little boy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. He watched me mow and daddy wash his truck that day. We were pretty busy. We wish we were home with family but we made the best of it.

April 9th I thought it would be a great idea to try Mason with some egg yolk. Well not a good idea after all, he had a allergic reaction to them. I saw him just rubbing and rubbing his face after eating them. Then I look at him and his face is just breaking out really bad. So I get him in the bath just to make sure nothing got in his eyes. Well then it started to spread to his whole body. I start to panic, I call his doctor and talk to a nurse about it. Well let's just say she made me feel like the world's wrost mother. She said you know he isn't supposed to be eating that yet right? And all I could think about is that I just hurt my son I need to get him in. Then she told me to bring him in ASAP is 10:10am ok she said, It was 8am. She really wants me to wait 2 hours to bring him in? I am just balling at this point not knowing what I should do. I call Dustin and I'm crying and he tells me to take Mason there now. So I get dressed and then get Mason dressed. I take him in and the doctor sees him, tells me it is ok. He gave Mason some meds to help him. Poor kid was just itching so bad. The doctor also told me that he can't get a skin test done until he is 18months. So I was thinking it wouldn't have mattered if I gave him eggs at 12months he would have still had the same problem. What the heck. I have read and looked many things up saying I could give him egg yolk at the age of 10months and up. Stupid nurse made me feel so bad, and it would have happened to him anyways. I wanted to call her every name in the book. Well Mason is much better now. He hasn't had eggs and wont have eggs until he is 18 months to make sure that is what it really was.

April 10th we took Mason to the beach for the 1st time. Well it was way to windy and cold so we just walked around the woods awhile so we didn't waste the money we paid to get in. And I saw Mason was getting his 1st tooth in. He is growing up so fast I just can't believe it. Later that night we went to the drive in and Mason did great. He slept the whole time. That is really the only time Dustin and I get a date night.

On April 13th Mason started walking behind his little walker thing Nana got him. He has so much fun with it.

Today Mason was playing with his walker and fall hit his mouth on it and made his only tooth bleed. I told Dustin he is going to knock his teeth out before he even gets them to come in. LOL. He cried for a min and then forgot about it. Well is tooth is really showing now since he broke the skin from it. Today we are also trying to take the paci away. I know if he continues to have it, it is just going to get harder to get him off of it. He went to sleep without it tonight. He had his mouth wide open for it after I feed him his bottle. I felt so bad, but this has to stop now.

Mason knows how to crawl now!

On March 5th mema was in town and was helping Mason crawl and now he has it down great. Well it isn't a full on crawl it is an low crawl. But let me tell you he is everywhere. His poor knees are bright red from dragging them everywhere. I am now working on walking. I just hope he doesn't to fast. Im sure he will take his time. He is like his mama in that part. Taking the time is the best way to go ;)
We had a great time with mema being here. I think Dustin really loved having his mother here. But we all went to Savannah one day and walked around for most of the day then headed home. It was very nice to see family since i miss them so much. I can't wait to be back in Missouri with my niece's.

Also my niece Brooklynn came in to the world 4wks early. She is 8lbs and 6oz and 22in long. She was very large for being 4wks early. Beckie and her will be at the hospital until Wednesday March 10th and then they should be able to go home. She is doing wonderful and got out of the nicu on the 9th. I can't wait to meet her. I bet Izzy can't wait to see her little sister either. She is going to be a wonderful big sister.

February

Well this past month has been busy. I just got back to SC from staying in Missouri for about 2 months. It was very nice to be home with family and friends. I had a wonderful time and a very busy time back at home. I loved seeing my niece almost every weekend. She has changed so much. She is very ready to be a big sister I think. Mason does miss having big cousin around.

Dad drive Mason and I back from Missouri all the way to SC. He didn't allow me to drive. Mason did pretty good for being in a car seat that long. We did stop over night for a little while. It was nice to get out of the packed car. We slept that night and then hit the road again. Dustin got home the following day we got home. I had picked up the house a little before he got there. It was a mess with all Mason's new toys he got. It was nice to see Dustin fast a month. I think he missed little Mason the most. It took Mason a little while to warm up to dad. But just 5 mins.

Then this past week Dustin, Mason and I went to Charleston to see my grandpa and Lyn. We had a wonderful weekend spending time with them. Mason loves his great grandpa. Mason did get the whole weekend until the day we were leaving. I think he was ready to be home. We kept him pretty busy the whole time.

Mason the past few days has been trying to crawl, He will get his knees under him and rock back and forth. I think it will be soon before he is crawling like a pro. He has his 9 month appt tomorrow. I hope they don't give him to many shots. I feel so bad when he gets them. He has also moved up to a big boy car seat. He loves it. He loves being able to see. I don't blame him at all.

Well I hope to be able to do this more. I just have to do it when Mason is taking his nap.

Thanksgiving

Got bad news today

Dustin wont be going to the school they told him he was going to. He was going to go to a school up in NC for 3 months to futher himself in the Corps. Well that all changed b.c they didn't get his paper work in when they should have. Now a Lance is going in his spot. I was really hoping i would be able to be home for a little while and spend well needed time with family and friends. Dustin is super pissed about not being able to go, I understand. This was to help him. I just can't believe this place can't get this stuff together. I thought 1/7 was bad. Oh no this place is way off the scale. What really gets me going is that i wont be able to be there once again for my neice to be born. I was hoping i would be there this time.

Sorry family and friends about not being able to be there again. I hope this place can get there things together soon. This is just pushing Dustin away even more.

The month of November

Well so far this month we have been pretty busy.

We had the ball November 7th. Dad came out to watch Mason for us that night. Dad got here the 6th and just hung out and went to dinner that night. Saturday before the ball we watched some NASCAR. YAY right. lol. Then Dustin and I started getting ready for the ball. Dad said him and Mason went out looking for girls when we were gone. lol. Silly dad. But the ball was wonderful. It was really nice to get out one night and just dance and have a few drinks. We got home around 1:30 that night and dad was still up, Mason was passed out. I think dad was a little on edge to sleep. I have no idea what I would have done with out having my dad there to watch him.

Sunday we all went to Savannah and walked around for a little while. We went and ate that this place called The Pirate House. I guess there is supposed to be ghost there or something. I don't know. But there food was wonderful. Then we walked around a little more and then headed home.

We took dad to the airport Monday night. I missed having him there the night he left. It is so wonderful to have family around. I really miss them so much.

Today is the day I find out if i am have another Neice or Nephew. Either way I am going to love them to death as I do with Miss. Izzy.

Here is 2 weeks my parents are coming here for Thanksgiving. I can't wait to see them both. We are going to have a good time even thou they can't stay long due to mom's work. But it is going to be so wonderful to see them. And 2 weeks after that we head to Missouri where I will stay there for 3 months. I hope I am there for my new neice or nephew.

Mason eating baby food

Mason is getting so big these days. I started him on his baby food Saturday night and he loved it. I talked to the doctor and he said he can start eating baby food at 4 months since he is a big boy. He said to start him off on veggies and then move to fruit. So he got some veggies last night and loved it so much. He had so much fun with it. He is growing so fast these days. He weighs 15lbs now. My little chunky monkey. That is ok I love my big boy. He is going to be 4 months here in the next week. The time is flying by. He is just to much fun. Dustin and I are going to Babies R Us to see if we can find something he can sit in and have some fun. He loves to try to stand. I will hold his arms and he will just stand there. I think he is going to walk before crawling. haha.

Weekend of fun

So this weekend we went out and did a few things. Friday we just stayed in a relaxed for the night. It is nice to do that. Then Saturday we went to Savannah and looked at SUVs. We are thinking about treading my car in for one. We need something that can get us back to Missouri. Well after looking at them we found one we liked, but before anything we asked them what we could get out of our car. They told us 19,000. So we told them they lost there minds and we are not going with that. So they said ok 21,000 and then we said your out of your mind and left. We know our car is wroth almost 24,000. So we are just going to keep the car for know until we can find a deal worth working with. I know it is only a 3,000 differece but that is a lot. haha. Then we went to the mall and walked around for a few hours. We got home and then wanted to go see a movie so we went to the drive in with Mr.Mason. He is getting a little harder just to sit down with. He wasn't happy for the first part of the movie. lol. So i got him to sleep and it was great. Today we got the cars washed and Mason and daddy got to sing a little. I am going to post a video of them together. It is so cute. Mason was having to much fun. That was my fun weekend. I hope soon we can go to the beach again it just has been way to hot to have Mason outside. I feel like i am making a bubble boy. haha

Mason 3 months

So last night I was giving Mason his bath and he started doing this thing with his mouth. I am going to post a video of him doing it. He is just to darn cute. I just can't believe how big he is getting.
He has been sleeping so good. He goes to bed around 10pm and doesn't get up until 8:30am. It is wonderful. It gives Dustin and I a hour to ourselves. Mason is a pretty good baby thou, i can't complain. Last night i was on the computer and he was just talking away to his daddy. Dustin told me he couldn't hear the tv over him. lol. So i think he is goin to be like me in that way. He is going to love to talk. He does it none stop like me;)
I think here in the next month we are going to try baby food. I hope he takes it well. He loves to eat, so i think he will be just great.
We are goign to start putting Mason in his crib, I know it is going to be hard on me and i am sure i will be getting up every hour to check on him. But I think it is time for it. He is going to be 3 months tomorrow. Yicks!
As for me I am 6lbs away from my pre-pregency weight. Thank goodness. I still have 15lbs to go. Before I got pregnant i got carried away when we were back at home. So i am working on that.
As for Dustin he is doing wonderful. He works all the time but we get the weekends together.

Wow teeth already?

So today i was on the computer holding Mason and i looked down in his mouth and i see a little white thing on his gums and i try to wipe it off. Well it wouldn't come off and it was super hard. I can't believe my 3 month old already has teeth coming in. How crazy is that. I was hoping he wouldn't get them until he was a little older. But hey he will be eating steaks next week. HAHA. I can't believe it. I am so happy but sad at the same time. He is just growing way to fast.
I will post a picture when i can. Right now it is a little to small for it. Just a little white is showing like a spot. Wow. It is amazing how fast things can change.

Mason is growing so fast.

Mason is going to be 3 months next week. I really can't believe how fast it has gone. He changes everyday. He is learning how to swing his arms like there about to fly off. He is all over the place with his arms and legs. When he sleeps he will move all the way up to the top of the bed. He is moving none stop. I can't wait until he starts walking. I know i am in trouble.

Mason is the happiest baby i have ever seen. He wakes up smiling and goes to sleep smiling and giggling. It is so great to wake up in the morning and look down at him with his big ol' smile at you. It makes getting up so early great. lol.

I wouldn't change a thing about being his mom. I am truly so lucky to have a great baby. He makes my day everyday. Even when he cries i smile. I know he is healthy and happy. God truly blessed me with a great baby boy.

It is scary to think i already want another one. lol. Not for a year or two thou. I want to spend all the time in the world with Mason right now. He is my best friend!

Mason Thomas Dampier has entered the world!

May 27th 2009

Weight: 8lbs 9 oz and 19 3/4 long

This pregnancy was a walk in a park up until i hit 33wks, that is when little Mason wanted to join us a little to early. I started having contractions when i was baby sitting a little boy. I didn't know they were contractions until a friend of mine told me i needed to go to L&D to get checked out. So i went in and i was having contractions 2-3 mins apart. They stopped them and told me to come back if i started having then again.

Well here comes 34wks and i started having them again. This time they were 4-8mins apart, They stopped them again and told me that they were not going to stop them again if i had them again. That he would be able to come to this world healthy and happy.

Well I went to my 39wks OB appt and i was only 1-2cm dilated and 70% effaced. But they were worried about my blood pressure being so high. It has been high this whole time, this doctor was the only one that did something about it. Well they sent me to L&D to check it and we talked them in to inducing me the following day. My family was out here on there vacation so they all were here to help me. Thank goodness i am not sure what i would do with out them. The following day i got to L&D at 5am and they started to induce me at 7am. They broke my water about 8am. I was feeling great for a while then the contractions started to get harder and harder. I hit 5cm pretty fast about 12pm. Well I asked for the epi, There is not way i would have done it with out it. I was in labor for 14hours and had baby Mason at 8:58pm.

I was in so much pain Dustin had to help me take a shower. I thought i was about to die. Well Mason did some work on me. I tore so bad and had no idea that i had so. He is very worth the pain.

Today Mason is 3 weeks old and now weighs 9lbs 13 oz and is 22in long. Growing so fast i can't even believe it. I am still in some pain from it all. I am healing very slowly. My mother stayed out here with me for 2 wks to help me out. And she helped a lot. She would get up with Mason at night and let me sleep. Now my mother in law is coming out to help since i can't heal very fast trying to do things. My doctor said if i don't sit down then i will never heal. I am so thankful to my family that is helping me out. I have no idea how to repay them. I just want them to know how much it means to me. I feel very loved!
